2. What Data We Collect
When you submit a report, we collect the following information:
- Your first name and last name
- Your email address
- Your postcode
- Your approximate location (if you choose to share it)
- Details of the fuel shortage you are reporting, including the petrol station, fuel types affected, and whether rationing is in place
3. How Your Data Is Used
Your data is used for the following purposes:
- To compile and submit fuel shortage reports to your local Member of Parliament
- To identify your electorate based on your postcode
- To send you a confirmation email when you submit a report
- To generate aggregated, non-identifying reports on fuel shortages across electorates
4. Sharing with Members of Parliament
Your report, including your name and postcode, will be shared with the Member of Parliament for your electorate. This is the core purpose of FuelWatch — to ensure that your elected representative is informed about fuel supply issues in their electorate.
MPs may receive your report as an instant alert or as part of a daily digest, depending on their notification preferences.
5. Data Retention
Your report data is retained for the duration of the FuelWatch program. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us. Aggregated, anonymised data may be retained for analytical purposes.
